Welcome to the first issue of Yoga Das News!

The Yoga Das band will be leading our first kirtan of 2012 on Saturday, February 18th, 7:00 PM, at Urban Yoga, 458 South Palm Canyon Drive, in Palm Springs.

For this performance Yoga Das will feature Lisa Kekaula singing lead, Bob Vennum on guitar, and Miles Shrewsbery playing tablas. They will be joined by Sura and Bhana from the Temple Bhajan Band — Sura singing and playing harmonium and kartals, Bhana on mrdunga — as well as by Mark Miller (harmonica), Laura Cueva-Miller (vocals, harmonium), and Scott Miller (vocals, kartals). This configuration of Yoga Das is known for mixing rich, authentic Vedic chanting with beautifully hardcore instrumentals. No other group gets both of those things going together like Yoga Das!

A second kirtan will be held at the Anam Cara Yoga Center in Riverside in March, tentatively set for Saturday the 17th at 7:30, and will feature Inner Prisms members Sam Marsey and Gerald Pedilla, as well as Daniel Gomez, Eduardo Valencia, and Laura and Scott.
